Is there any alternative to Adobe CC?

Don’t get me wrong, I love Adobe and I recommend it for designers in no time. It’s a no-brainer, it’s the best collection out there. But don’t you have the feeling that you’re wasting money on something that you use, let’s say, 3 times a month?
Adobe used to sell the programs, it was super expensive, I have the Photoshop CS2 and I can’t even open it anymore because it’s so outdated and I bought the cd when the CS4 was out there. It was cheap but it was a mistake. It helped me for a while and then I tried the newest one and I couldn’t come back to it. Do you know the feeling when you try something better, you just can’t come back to the way it was?
But upgrade was way too expensive, I was living in Brazil at that time so it was 2 times more expensive. I feel really sorry for them now because the US dollar is 4 times the Brazilian Real now.
I believe that was the reason Adobe decided to work on a service base, which it’s amazing to designers and even to non-designers, so everyone can have access to their programs for a small fee, a month.
If you need just one program: Photoshop or Illustrator or Indesign, you will pay US$20.99/month, annually. Or you can pay US$31 to use for a month. For one program, you would pay US$251.88 + taxes, every year. Or you can get all apps for US$52.99/month, annually or US$635.88 + taxes, every year.
To compare, each program of Adobe used to cost US$700, but it was yours.
Now you rent the package, get all the updates, everything you need, but nothing it’s yours. It’s amazing and affordable, and for designers, I think it’s genius. This is the best deal you can get: the all apps for US$52 if you receive in US dollar.
Can you imagine spending $200/month on a service that you don’t use everything? It’s insane!
If you’re not a designer, I don’t think you should pay Adobe a single dime. It’s not worth it. If you’re only using it to create graphics for social media, you can open Chrome and use Canva.

It’s incredible what you can do with it, it has everything separated by social media, there are many examples you can use, lots of inspirations and of course you have the option to buy a graphic for a buck.

But if you need something more, I have a tip here that will save you thousands.

It’s a one time fee, you will buy the programs, get all the updates, use exactly the same file format between applications, super light-weight, works on windows and mac. I am a fan. I was waiting for the day I could try and I did.
For only US$50 each, I present you: Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer.
They are working on Affinity Publisher (InDesign similar) and it will be released this year and I can’t wait.
After 8 years using Illustrator, I feel that all the shortcuts are in the wrong place but I am getting used to it.

It’s so good that I kept thinking what took me so long to make the conversion. If you are a professional from another country other than USA or an enthusiastic designer, I think you should give a try. They have a free trial, so definitely give Affinity apps a try.

And that’s it! Hope this post helped you and if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments section.
